Re: RSS statistics
Thanks, Onli. I'll see what I can make of Bernd's article. And I'll see what else I can find on the subject in German and English, ideally information that's a bit easier to follow. The web logs that my server creates show a lot of visits to the blog - my statistics have rocketed since I set the blo...

RSS statistics
Hi, Since I'm relatively new to Serendipity, I'm not familiar with all the plug-ins yet. I've added RSS functionality to my blog so people can subscribe to it, which seems to work nicely in Mozilla, IE and Opera. I was wondering if there is a way of seeing how many people are actually signing up, th...

Re: freetag plug-in with Flash - space between words?
Thanks for your suggestion, too, Yellowled. I'll play around with the settings over the next few days and see what results I come up with. Regarding what you say about Flash, why shouldn't it work on most users' screens? I thought it was platform-independent and is needed to display moving elements ...

Re: freetag plug-in with Flash - space between words?
Thanks for helping, Ian. It's a clever idea to change the way the tags are displayed in Flash without actually changing their names elsewhere.
Best,
Carl

Re: freetag plug-in with Flash - space between words?
Here's the Flash version that I'm currently using, too (sorry, but I could only attach three images to the last message - that's the limit). That's a sort of cloud, at least.

Re: freetag plug-in with Flash - space between words?
Perhaps it would be possible to modify the "Manage Tags" page in the Admin back end and include a simple text editor for entering and changing tags. If this accepted the HTML entity for a non-breaking space, for example, then it might be possible for the Flash application to use the tags t...

Re: freetag plug-in with Flash - space between words?
Thanks for the link to the other thread, Ian. I've already limited the number of tags to 20, so that seems OK for now. The only layman's way I can think of dealing with the tag issue is to use "_" between the words in a two-word tag. I wonder if that would work? Or just to leave things as ...

Re: freetag plug-in with Flash - space between words?
Hi Ian, Yes, it only happens when Flash is activated. I've just tried adding between a two-word tag on the "Manage tags" configuration page in Admin and that got saved alright, but it caused the tag cloud to disappear from view, so that's not the answer, unfortunately. It only h...

freetag plug-in with Flash - space between words?
Dear all, I've installed the freetags plug-in on my blog and have set up a Flash tag cloud, which works nicely. Quite a few of the tags I use contain two words (e.g. "book review"), but these appear in the cloud without a space between them, which is something I don't want to happen. What ...

Re: Wiktionary plug-in
Hi everyone. Any views on the viability of creating this little plug-in yet? To make the idea appeal to more bloggers using s9y, it might be an idea to allow the plug-in to be user-configured so it can be linked to any free-to-use online dictionary on the Web or to a small number of them to allow us...

Wiktionary plug-in
Hi, I installed and tested the Wikipedia plug-in on my new s9y blog last week. It's a simple plug-in that works well, but rather than accessing Wikipedia, which is an encyclopedia, I'd prefer to use a similar plug-in that allows visitors to my blog (on translating) to mark a word in a blog post and ...

Updating my s9y installation
Hello Ian, Following your advice yesterday, I changed the permissions for the config_local file and the errors disappeared after that. So now the blog's up and working again (even though it's running on v1.7-rc3). :D Thanks. I think it would be wise for the developers to include information like thi...

Re: error message about headers / blog posts w/o images
Thanks for your reply, Ian. My config_local file doesn't contain "$serendipity['production'] = false;", so that's not the answer, I'm afraid. I've just modified the config_local file to make it writable, which may (or may not) have solved the problem; I'll check that tomorrow once I've upl...

Re: error message about headers / blog posts w/o images
P.S. In Serendipity's upgrade agent, it says: "If after installation you get uncircumventable errors, you can make sure to set $serendipity['product'] = true; in your serendipity_config_local.inc.php file. This should lower error reporting to a way that will not interfere with incompatible prob...
