Re: Security fotr admin

Hi Garvin, Renaming files is security by obscurity; this concept has never really worked and I discourage to put any trust into this being of help. I agree, it's not a solution in itself, but it would make it easier to buy a little time, because as soon as someone *does* find an exploit, they'll kno...

Security fotr admin

I asked this long ago and now I can't find the question or the answer, so forgive me, I'll ask again. Is it trivial to change the name of the admin file? Almost all blog software is under random attack, and I'm guessing it won't be long before people begin hitting randomly at the well-known file ser...

Re: Spamblock error message on comment admin page

Without a version number of either the plugin or the core s9y version, I sadly can't help you further. Some regular expression is not matching, so you might have entered some invalid settings in the spamblock plugin. Garvin, sorry, that was written in a big rush. However your answer gave me the thi...

Garvin, All the points you make are good ones, of course, especially about the ease of adding relatively small extensions to the tpl. I wish I had more time to look at doing this kind of thing. Hmmm, this reminds me that I thought about looking at some Smarty docs RealSoonNow ;) Well, creating anoth...

Multilingual and cms prayer

I was attracted to s9y because of its multilingual plugin. Once I tried s9y, I really liked though. The more I've used it the more I like it as a CMS and I've been using it embedded on several sites for news pages etc. However... There are a couple of things I'd really like see and they all involve ...

You updated to 0.9.1 or to 1.0? Did you have the commentform.tpl inside the default directory? Because then things should work...?! (and they do work for me...) Hi Garvin, I was updating from 0.8 something to 0.9.1. The commentform.tpl is in the template/default directory. However, the button text ...

This is interesting. Because there was no commentform.tpl in my own template, as soon as I copied the default one, things worked again.

I thought s9y looked in default if it didn't find a tpl in the current template?

Comment buttons empty after update to 9.1

I didn't notice this right away but now the comment form shows properly but the submit buttons have no text. Where exactly are these buttons generated?

thanks,

I don't like it but my users love this. Unfortunately, as I've said in another forum, they love cut/paste from MS Word. I'm no MS basher, I have about 5 Windows machines, but hey, MS Word generates the worst HTML of any editor I've seen since Front Page '98! The biggest problems I have are MS Word H...

That is the name "prev" for navigation. But now I'm remembering that this can be configured to be the title or prev, top, next, right? I'll check that.

Thanks for the other info, too.

Static pages tpl question

I'm trying to adapt the static page plugin to present a collection of columns by various authors. I want the navigation to be more specific. If I am in a page B that is a child of page A $staticpage_navigation.top.link will give me the link to go back to tha authors "home" page (my parent)...

Clean up MS Word pasted text?

Boy, if there was ever a crying need for a plugin, this is it! All users love to paste from their word docs. God that code is ugly both the source and the results! Still, the word "text editor" is totally foreign to them.

What's an admin to do?
