Re: 'Show Entries in sidebar' plugin - random order?

I should have mentioned, that is the one thing I tried. But since it didn't work (it still was ordered by timestamp), I thought I was on the wrong track.

'Show Entries in sidebar' plugin - random order?

Is there a way I could set the 'Show Entries in sidebar' plugin (serendipity_plugin_showentries) to display entries in a random order, rather than by most recent?

If not, would this be an option you might consider adding in an update?

Freetag plugin - strange URLs

I've noticed sometimes I get visitors from a Google search who land on a long, convoluted URL like http://spikedcandy.com/blog/plugin/tag/60s%20girls/heart-of-glas/anorak-christmas/shake-baby-shake/jany-elle-est-chouette/anorak-christmas/things-fall-apart/cuatro-sudamericanos/christmas-with-serge-an...

Facebook Plugin: Open Graph meta tags for index vs entries

I'm using a mix of the Facebook Plugin and Twitter card meta tags to generate preview cards for Facebook and Twitter, and it's working well for sharing my entries. I also tried adding Open Graph meta tags to my index.tpl, as I wanted a description, title and image specific to sharing the main blog p...

Re: Custom Permalinks plugin - editing the prefix

Sorry, forgot to get back to this and just wanted to say I appreciate your reply. I found I don't need the plugin right now but next time I'm playing with it, I'll get back to your suggestions/questions.

Re: Custom Permalinks plugin - editing the prefix

I also forgot this plugin has a problem where if I use a custom URL, the comments section no longer shows up. Any way to fix this?

Custom Permalinks plugin - editing the prefix

Hi, I'm wanting to use the Custom Permalinks plugin again, but my problem with it is it automatically gives every entry a prefix of /permalink. The biggest issue with this is if I need to go back and edit a previously published post, it will change the URL unless I remember to edit that too. It also...

Re: How to fix next page error?

Deleted all the custom permalinks, all fine. Removed and reinstalled Custom Permalinks so I could just rename a few posts, but unfortunately the way it works causes some problems. The posts I want to rename are mostly just to remove punctuation, so I will try out the suggestions here: http://board.s...

Re: How to fix next page error?

OK  .
Any chance you could make it a small 'p' in future? The capital P looks a bit awkward with the rest of the URL in lowercase.

Re: How to fix next page error?

They normally are stored in "PREFIX"_entries... Thanks once again. I still don't really get why this is necessary. Do you have "handmade" links to other entries in your entries? Sorry this is a little hard to explain, and I don't remember the exact sequence of how this happened. But essentially, I ...

Re: Feedback wanted: Features section of new website

Looks good :) .

One thing that hugely affects my decision in choosing a blogging platform or CMS is what their own site looks like. This site gives a good feeling for how well structured and simple Serendipity is.

Re: How to fix next page error?

Thanks, Timbalu. I'm starting to accept there's probably no way around this, and think I can find a prefix I can live with. I'll just have to dive in and change all the post names. Is there a particular place the post names are stored, so maybe I can do a batch replace?

Re: feature-request freeTag: page with all tags

I tried this out and loved the tag cloud effect in action. I did not see any option to sort ascending or descending. The way I have gotten what I need for now (in 3.66) is just changing asort to arsort in the plugin. There was one issue with the new one. I tried to set it up similar to my setup of 3...

Re: How to fix next page error?

Can you give me a URL to see what you mean by this? It's not currently live as many things aren't ready, but I'll PM you a URL and login. For what exact case do you use the custom permalinks plugin? Is that as to be some kind of "poor mans static pages"? Is it to display old content you have ported...
