well, if u happen to install s9y 0.8.1 on a system such that u are using a different charset on all the system setups, say, gb2312 for web server, php, mysql, etc...
then u probably encountered the same problem i had... with s9y, such that posts became "????"
all u have to do... is not to change ...

fresh install of s9y 0.8.1
after setting the personal settings to either simplified chinese (gb2312 & utf-8), all the entries written in simplified chinese turned into question marks "?????"
whileas when personal setting is set to english, the entry body written in gb2312 went through correctly ...

There is an error for the sql dump creation.
Apparently there can be another method to make life easier, with minimal programming.

after a few tries of re-installing and configuring the plugins.. i found what the problem was. it was a bug with the "email Entry" plugin. after installing this plugin the links to comments, etc., simply fails to work properly. after uninstalling this plugin everything was ...

ok... i do not know if this is a bug or not. i am using the Zeus web server and php 4.3.11, mysql 4.1.10a, Centos 4.
i installed s9y OK, and the comment link for each entry worked in the beginning. after i change themes, added a few entries, and customized a few plugins... the links to the comments ...
