Hi
Please forgive me for not getting back sooner. I'm travelling and the opportunity (or internet) is not always there.
The blog is http://www.oregoncatalyst.com.
I looked at the database, and took a little time to test, and your assumption appears to be right...there are a number of variations ...

Re: Spam Protector (1.26) Doesn't Seem to Work
The particular objectionable commentator goes by the name of Captain Anon , or something like that.
The client has put the name in the Wordfilter for author names but the comment still appears for approval. My understanding is that the Spam Protector should keep the submitted content from being ...

Spam Protector (1.26) Doesn't Seem to Work
My client dislikes the comments posted by a particular visitor. I looked at his use of Spam Protector (v1.26) and he seems to be using it corrctly, but the visitor's posts still arrive in the approval queue.
Any suggestions for possible glitches in this Plug-In?

Embedding Links in Comments
Should I be able to embed links in comments?
In the Appearance and Options section of the Configuration page it seems to suggest that I can turn this on. However embedded html (at least the <a href> tag, gets stripped.

Calling a new template page
I want to set some static content and I would like to create a new .tpl page for it. By adapting my index.tpl page, I can retain the styles and include all the plug-ins in the sidebar.
I can't seem to figure out where to insert my hack so that the link calls the new .tpl page.

Re: Missing Directory in 0.9
Thanks.
I don't have ssh access to that particular server so I unpacked it with WinZip on my windows machine.
The 0.8 version had a file in that directory, so it unpacked.

Re: Invalid Urls?
Thanks for the comments, guys. When I checked the Forum, there didn't seem to be any postings about a problem similar to mine. I thought that there must be a balanced point-of-view.
I could choose another blog but, having done my research, I still think this is the best choice.

Missing Directory in 0.9
I downloaded 0.9 to do a clean install.
The process stops at the system check, because the directory, templates_c, is not writable.
Actually, it's not even there! Can I copy the 0.8 directory over?

Invalid URLs?
I installed serendipity-0.8.5 on my local Apache server easily. Child's play.
However, installation on my client's server stops dead with a 403 Forbidden error as soon as I click on Install (either Simple or Expert).
Can anybody comment on the ISP Unix Administrator's explanation?

Hi Jonathan
I'm going to suggest that the Serendipity guys write a Poll plug-in. It's a way to test what your readers think and would add interest to a site.
I thing I will also see about writing a poll routine. It seems to me that it would be pretty straightforward. What I am not so sure about is ...

Poll Plugin
I would like to put a "Poll" into the sidebar of Serendipity. I saw one at http://www.acton.org/blog/
This is not a plug-in that is listed in the s9y list.
Can anybody point me to a source?
