some headway
OK what we did here was create a sylink to the /var/www/user-htdocs-gallery/ folder and used gallery2 as the value. Now we see the front page of gallery2 embedded in the page, however, nothing will execute there - when one clicks on a thumbnail, for example, it should go to that album...... Does any...

We installed Serendipity in SHARED installation config per 41.html It's located at /usr/local/lib/php/s9y/ The user web root is located at /var/www/html/12345/user-htdocs/ We installed gallery2.2 in multisite mode. This user's Gallery2 is located at /var/www/html/12345/user-htdocs-gallery/ We instal...

Garvin - thanks but i think we have still a path issue unresolved. In the original post we wrote: In the tables (mysql) the serendipityPath field is set to /www/docroot/, we changed it to /usr/loca/lib/php/s9y/ and it didn't seem to make a difference. In a shared installation, what value is used in ...

Garvin - Thanks for pointing that out/ we modded another file that continued to look for dragdrop.js there and all is well. We also moved dragdrop.js to the root installation folder, so that it gets distributed out when the new blogs are installed in the individual user. Great goings - I am very imp...

Shared Installation snafu - absolute path or what?
s9y has sure covered some ground since we last upgraded, so in the spirit of things we installed the latest 1.1.3 stable release, following the s9y_conf script and double checked things at the shared installation instructions. Spartacus wasn't around on our last installation, and well it still isn't...

MySQL replication-savvy middleware
In our small server farm, we run some apache web servers and MySQL database servers. We generally replicate dbServerA to dbServerB and also maybe to dbServerC and dbServerD. We configure s9y to read to a master dbServer within the cluster (a machine other than the web server serving s9y). Anyone up ...

exit.php=302 redirect=drops hyperlinked page from search eng
Outbound links in s9y look like this in my installatin: http://www.domain.com/vox/exit.php?url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5maXZlc3RhcmZsYWdzLmNvbS9pbmRpYW5hLXN0YXRlLWZsYWdzLnBodG1s (the above is from a link in an html nugget [a href=plainuri.html]Subject[/a] The search engines index the gobbledegook uri exit.php...

tired_one - Garvin - Tom - tnx
thanks for all the detective work in uncovering the problem. We implemented the sql statements and created the indexes. tnx again! We are running a shared installation (just migrated to it) and reviewed the other blogs' tables and note the indexes weren't created as well. We used the shared installa...

Everyone had good clues to point us in the right direction
and thanks! We changed some of the default install index creations: _authors - added index on authorid _entrycat - default installs no indexes, we indexed both the entryid and categoryid _entries - added index on timestamp the explain wound up looking like: +-------+--------+------------------+-----...

Scalability Performance - Thousands of entries
We checked our index keys and yes they do exist. We are stuck with this install at MySQL 3.23; we plan on migrating that server to 4.02 soon. Explain results of the query are: *** row 1 *** table: e type: ALL possible_keys: NULL key: NULL key_len: NULL ref: NULL rows: 40507 Extra: where used; Using ...

Scalability Performance - Thousands of entries
We're kinda pushing the envelope and have hit the wall now. Our Serendipity installation -0.71- has slowed down long enough where the index page load just times out! The slow query is : SELECT e.id, e.title, e.timestamp, e.comments, e.exflag, e.author, e.authorid, e.trackbacks, e.isdraft, e.allow_co...

pretty handy
The migration went off, with only a few deviations. The upgrader didn't detect - so never launched.
If your upgrade script doesn't detect your install, execute EACH mysql.sql file in sequence!
Thanks Garvin for your help.

Import rss-0.3 -->0.7.1-Shared Install-Extended Entry lin
Since we're under a comment-spam attack, we've decided to bite the bullet and make the upgrade from 0.30 to 0.7.1 (see http://www.s9y.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=784) - This is where we run into 'Extended Article' problems. We're importing from blog to blog1, a single category at a time. The problem ...

AllowOverrides All {set}
Yes, we did
The domain.com root process rewrites currently, it has the AllowOveride All directive as does blog and blog1; all these are set via httpd.conf.
Thanks for the inputs.
It's strange because we also tried a
Redirect 301
and that didn't work either
