Automatically displaying comments
I would like my comments to show up automatically on the same page as the entry, without the visitor having to click a link. I've tried to make changes in the entries.tpl file, but I think I need to add something in to make this happen, and I'm not sure what.

Not even new entries... just a notification link. That's what I want: just like what PHPBB sends you when you're subscribed to a thread and someone posts in it. I haven't had much time to look into it yet, but if I find anything I'll let you know. A lot of my viewers aren't familiar with blogs (or t...

Chadwick, is this correct: you're looking for something like what forums have, where every time there's a new post in a thread you're subscribed to, you get a very generic email with a link to that thread and the explanatio that new entries have been posted? If so, have you found it yet? I'd like on...

I'm having the same problem as the original poster. It's just not splitting the entries. I got v. 1.6 of the plug-in from the CVS, and I'm using 8.0 (the latest stable download). My installed plug-in list is: Markup: Serendipity Markup: Emoticate Markup: NL2BR Browser Compatibility Spam Protector An...

Yes, those are the sort of options I wanted! The second one is ideal because I can choose what excerpt to use. However, I did my best to follow your instructions, and it's not working. Here's exactly what I did: there was no entries.tpl file in the subfolder for my template (idea). So I changed the ...

Okay, Show Full Feeds is set to No. As for #2, you're saying I have to create a preview, and an extended body for the rest of the article? But this prevents the full article from showing up on my blog's entry page. I DO want the full article on the entry page. I just don't want it in the feed. What ...

Making feed only display a preview
I was noticing that in Bloglines and other aggregators, some people's blogs only show a teaser - maybe the first 200 words on the post - forcing readers to click and come to the real site if they want to read more. But mine S9 blogs post the entire entry, so they can read it off site without ever vi...

That worked like a charm. Now I can put it in any subdirectory that needs it. Thank you!garvinhicking wrote:You can put a .htaccess file iny our subdirectories containing the files and try this:
