Re: Install New Event Plugin page fails
Hello again Garvin, Problem fixed. I managed to get a report of my PHP errors by tweaking my php.ini file in cgi-bin. The error was : PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class serendipity_event_entrypaging in /hsphere/local/home/user/vincentmounier.com/blog2/plugins/serendipity_event_entrypaging/seren...

Re: Install New Event Plugin page fails
Hi Garvin, Thanks as always for your prompt reply! Well I tried to follow your suggestions but - probably due to restrictions by my provider - no luck. I can't seem to add the required code to htaccess without getting a 500 error nor to get access to CGI logs. Trying to get a better sense for the is...

Install New Event Plugin page fails
Hi, I recently noticed that my "Install New Event Plugin" link on the Admin/Appearance/Configure Plugins page failed to open the usual list of event plugins. I didn't think much of it and assumed that something was up with Spartacus and would get fixed soon. But days later, the issue is st...

Re: HTML Nugget causes validation error
I'm such a fool! Of course, it was in my template! I am indeed using a modified i3theme and yup, the problem was in sidebar.tpl. I did try to simply remove id="{$item.class} from sidebar.tpl and at first glance, it didn't break anything. But just to be sure, I'd rather still assign a unique id ...

HTML Nugget causes validation error
Hi, I'm not sure this belongs in the Bugs section but in any case, my HTML Nugget sidebar plugins are causing an XHTML validation error because each plugin gets assigned the same id="serendipity_html_nugget_plugin" I've just been looking for the source of that code to see if I could by-pas...

Re: Trying to create a "random entry if nothing new" check
Garvin, That was just brilliant!!! I've implemented it with a few tweaks. The blog now serves a random entry to any visitor (via browsers only, no RSS obviously) who arrives at least two days after the last entry was posted. It will help greatly because my posting schedule is rather erratic these da...

Re: Root level htacess and redirects issues
Wow, I hadn't caught that, thanks for the feedback! I had to tweak your code a bit to fix another problem I just discovered, which was an error when rewriting to add both the "www" and the trailing "/", so I had to add more code to both my root and Serendipity .htaccess, but in t...

Trying to create a "random entry if nothing new" check
Hi, My knowledge of PHP and Smarty being rather superficial to say the least, I'm having trouble implementing my random entry functionality as follows I've found in the entrypaging plugin that a random entry link is generated (and in my case placed at the top of the detailed entry page) but I would ...

Re: Root level htacess and redirects issues
Well, whatever the cause was, I've solved my issue by adding a couple of lines to s9y's htaccess that basically duplicate the rewrite rules I had at root level. I'm not too sure about the rationale behind all this but it works...

Vince

Re: Root level htacess and redirects issues
I'm afraid server support were about as helpful as a post office employee. ;-) I did check my DirectoryIndex setting and it is set to index.htm but I assume that's only for the root level. Can DirectoryIndex also handle sub-directories? Updated: I conducted a test with another script in another simi...

Root level htacess and redirects issues
I'm having an issue with redirects and htaccess. I'm trying to redirect any traffic arriving to mydomain.com to go to www.mydomain.com instead. The following is the code I'm using for that purpose in the root level htaccess file (I've changed my own domain name into "mydomain" below to avo...

Re: Xinha strips image path when dragged
Thanks for the info Garvin, I should at least be able to use IE for the time being. I'll give it a try tonight. And I will also post the question on the Xinha forum.
Cheers,
Vince
