Is this issue (not being able to access the 'manage styles' page within the admin console) caused by changing the .htaccess file, or is it caused simply because the site is down?
Reason I'm asking is that I experienced the same issue, only noticing it after changing the .htaccess file.

Resolved - Here's How
Decided to take another look at the URL. In addition to pasting the path of the blog, I tried pointing the path to a particular category. That was the problem. Taking off the category and leaving the path ending in 'serendipity/' restored the graphics.
