(Also, the trend in marketing and branding is for logos to be stylistic rather than photorealistic...principally to allow it to cross media easily - colour and black/white variations, two or 4 colour rather than full spectrum for printing, and ability to reduce in contrast to provide watermarking/b...

And I would suggest either combined with this (or separate) a template chooser sample. Perhaps I am misunderstanding, but it sounds like a sidebar plugin? That's the way it works in Joomla. [...] It took me a long time of staring at the logo to even know that it is an empty cup and spoon on a sauce...

Zoran, your s9y fighting plan is great! I must admit that I'm too tight in my schedule to get involved in this, but if you give me announcements to make on blog.s9y.org or HTML templates/graphics to implement on the servers, I'll talk it up with Jannis and post/implement that. Would be great if we ...

It's interesting you focus on indicating php on the logo too - maybe this is unnecessary as the average user will want a blog to work, rather than be concerned with what it is coded with. Having 'php' in both the title description and logo I feel gives the impression of a coder's blog, rather than ...

Here's a first go at a restyling plan: Serendipity restyling In order for s9y to measure up with the competition, we need a new design that pointed at the end-user. It would be very nice to do the 1.0 release together with a brand new shiny professional style! Serendipity is: - easy to use - easy to...

Maybe, as a core developer and maintainer of Serendipity, I'd like to drop in that I really like our logo. But of course :) What I think is failing at this point is a consistent style across everything Serendipity. Think of it as a styleguide, or more specific templates to use in cowiki, s9y, phpbb...

I agree on almost everything that was said here. But I dont think the s9y blog should be the startpage. Neither should the Wiki. Create some pages with static content. An introduction, a list of features, a download site, a how to install site, a beginners guide. For news link to the blog itself. F...

s9y popularity compared to other weblog products

Hi all, I was wondering how popular Serendipity is compared to other weblog products. Google Directory gives it a 10th place, according to pagerank. I used del.icio.us to see what real users think :) http://www.kovacevic.nl/blog/archives/200-Blog-product-popularity-according-to-del.icio.us.html Conc...

Yes, an "check for upgrades" option and the dashboard is on the Wishlist for Serendipity. Volunteers are welcome :) As usual! :) Are the rss parsing libraries in the standard s9y distribution? A simple version would be to shown the latest entry of http://blog.s9y.org/categories/1-Announce...

OK, I'll check it out.

The http://www.s9y.info/ askes me to "Make an offer to purchase this domain name.". I guess somebody hijacked it already.

I like s9y too, especially when typing it :) I am suggesting this, because I think that it would be easier for first-timers to find the project. Configure it as a cname to s9y. If it has not been tried before, I don't mind to ask very politely if we can take over the domain name. I can pay for a dom...

Usually you can still delete corrupted plugins from the backend.

Perhaps you can give a link to your site and explain what went wrong? If not, it is a bit hard to offer any help ...

Some feature ramblings on installing and upgrading!

Hi all, The Who is using page is pretty cool. A problem with it, is that it is easy to forget to enter you data after completing your s9y install. How about extending the install-script so that it gives a ping to a server, indicating that a new s9y install (URL, description, maintainer) was made? Of...
