Which plugin?
This is an import question - I hope it's the right section. In order to import an MT blog, I am told to install the following plugin: serendipity_event_entryproperties But when I look at the event plugins, there are several that refer to properties, but none of them has its name indicated. How is th...

Configuring Google site search plugin
I like the Google the Site plugin as it searches in comments as well as text.
When I look at its configuration, I am invited to enter my Adsense details (I have Adsense too).
Could someone tell me why that is? What does the site search have to do with Adsense?
TIA
Margaret

Changing calendar plugin
Quoting Garvin in another section: You can change the appearance either through CSS and for some plugins also with Template files. The calendar plugin for example uses the "plugin_calendar.tpl" template file for its output, there you can also change the used date format (using PHPs strftim...

I would be happy to look over that book translation as an English reader, of course, if I'm using Serendipity - it would be useful for me too. I would be in a position to compare it with the German at points where it seemed odd. But then again, you are a native speaker of English yourself, aren't yo...

Thanks for the reply, Garvin. I am British and I only translate into English, and I specialize in legal translation. You are thinking of getting the book translated to German, you say, but I think you mean English. Still, you really need a technical translator. Technical translators familiar with a ...

No, I was wrong, Zirbelholz is the validated username, but I got emails to two different addresses. Sorry about that, forget it. By the way, Don, you wrote that you aren't sure what my question is about the entries.tpl. I wasn't asking a question, I was illustrating what I don't understand. I expect...

Thanks for your reply, Don. Unfortunately something seems to have gone wrong here. Last weekend, shortly after the forums were down as a result of the CPU failure, I tried to register, but without success. 24 hours later I tried again. Eventually two registrations came through, but I only validated ...

I am just trying to use Serendipity for the first time. I'm a German-English translator. When I try to read the Serendipity materials, I have the feeling I am reading something translated from the German, or maybe just written by German speakers, and parts of it may be correct (I don't know all the ...

Thanks, excellent information. Actually, the links will work for the time being, as the old blog will not be deleted till I am ready. Then I am moving the domain www.margaret-marks.com and keeping it for a while, so I can actually set up the same directory on the new server, which gives me breathing...

Thanks, Garvin, that's excellent. I didn't realize there was an import specifically for MT. I probably read in an outdated comparison of blog software that only RSS export/import was possible. The image files are all in a directory I created under my current URL. However, I'm moving the URL and losi...

Importing from MT
Hi, I have some questions about importing from MT (www.margaret-marks.com/Transblawg to www.transblawg.eu). The problem is that I can't get to grips with this till the weekend, and sometimes it's hard to get help at weekends. So these are general questions in advance. I have 2522 entries over a peri...

Thumbnail won't enlarge
Beginner's question: I uploaded an image file, which I described as uploading media, to www.transblawg.eu. It said it would upload to 'base directory'. It went into the 'Uploads' directory and a thumbnail was created. When I click on the thumbnail, it won't enlarge. Could someone tell me what I am d...

Hi Garvin, In case our messages did not overlap, I've done that and it does look OK. The ß has become SS, but that is correct in uppercase (which is a problem my old Movable Type had - I have an uppercase header and it looks dreadful to a German to see ß in uppercase, although uppercase ß does exist...
