Hi Don, I certainly did not mean to criticize the template - it's excellent. And I realize that it isn't going to please everyone, and that I can change it. I also realize that the fact that the date is badly formatted is trivial, I just don't want any of my clients to see it and think I can't write...

Thanks, yellowled and don. I will consult my critics again on whether space is needed between entries on one day. When I first loaded the template, they looked too close. I have got used to the fairly dark colour on the blockquotes (I know it can be changed). I quite like it, but my feeling was that...

I have found the new version and downloaded and unzipped it. Do I just copy the folder, or all the files, over by ftp (I've saved the calendar and blue.css files that I altered), or is there some other way of getting it into s9y? I would also like to put more space between entries on the same date, ...

It's all dated October 12. Can I update the bp without losing the changes I made to the header, or do I have to save the blue.css file manually?

TIA

Changing incorrect date format

I don't quite understand the interaction between the various types of file. Under my sticky post (http://transblawg.eu) there is a badly formatted date: October 14. 2007. It should be October 14, 2007 - no full stop (period) in English. This looks like what I need to change in the tpl file: {foreach...

Now I see what it is - I didn't understand how the plugin worked. I have to click on a + sign to get the second category. I thought I had to enter my categories as tags below.

Thanks.

I've got that plugin already - that's why I said I am getting no results on multiple categories (I accidentally wrote 'multiple entries'). But presumably I haven't correctly identified the plugin. I actually thought I was using it, hence my question. I will have a look.

I see. I know that some blogs have multiple categories and didn't realize that S9y had only one. I got the impression there are main categories and subcategories, so I couldn't imagine only one would be allowed. I thought what I was doing was adding categories, and that I might use a tag cloud later...

Categories not showing

I've seen other messages relating to this, I've seen a reference to serendipity_entrycat (or something like that), but can't find out which directory it's in. At http://transblawg.eu I have assigned multiple categories (only recent entries). When I click in the sidebar, nothing shows up under Fürth ...

OK, thanks, I didn't realize it was a Google problem. I probably imported a day or two later.

Searching archives after import

Hi, I imported 4 years' entries to http://transblawg.eu and it looks good, with good permalink names. But if I use the Google site search plugin, or even an external Google site search, only the very recent entries are searched, not the imported ones. For instance, I was looking for the word 'bronze...

I have created a new entry with a horrible photo showing two ways - on the left, the text appears next to or wrapped round each image. On the right, they simply follow each other. I presume I can easily get the right-hand view if I simply choose the first option, not left or right. That will do unti...

Yes, I kept refreshing the screen. Maybe it looks better to you, but the headings are all wrong, for me at least. There is a heading about smokers for the last picture, not the Bangladeshi sweet shop. I don't think of what I want so much as a caption, more as 'text' - sometimes a short description, ...

I did use <br style="clear: both" />, but I can't see it anywhere, so I must have forgotten to save it. I've done it again now and I still see a mess. I don't understand what you mean by picking each image to stand alone - that is, where do I do that? I get a choice of three positions, and...
