Hey Don,

Wasn't sure if there were any database changes from 1.2 > 1.4.1, so we just downgraded.
Looking to upgrade both soon.

Re: Importing posts from one S9Y blog to another

Thanks for the reply, Garvin.

We already copied the posts over.

What we ended up doing was downloading S9Y 1.2 on the dev server and just copied the production database over. Seemed like the easiest way to go about things!

Importing posts from one S9Y blog to another

Hey gang, Need some help with something. On our production S9Y blog, we're using S9Y 1.2 and on our development server, we're using S9Y 1.4.1. We want to export our production S9Y entries to our development S9Y blog. What is the right way to do this and make sure that all content is copied over? (No...

Re: Properties/Templates of categories with >1 categories

Hi judebert,

We haven't enabled the change on production yet, it works on our dev environment ;)
Samuel Araki has a link because I've enabled it in the startcat TPL template, but not in the secondary category templates.

Thanks for enhancing the plugin. Much appreciated!

Re: Properties/Templates of categories with >1 categories

Thanks Garvin! Works great, I can now see the author posts for secondary categories! --- Now I'm going to need judebert's expertise for the "categorytemplates" plugin. I can now see the author posts, but S9Y is using the "startcat" template, instead of the assigned categor...

Re: Properties/Templates of categories with >1 categories

Hi Garvin,

You're right; when I disable the "startcat" plugin, you can view the other author posts again.
Do I have to delete any plugin cache files, perhaps?

Re: Properties/Templates of categories with >1 categories

Hi Garvin,

I've applied your fix for the "startcat" plugin and tested it.
No go! :(

Any other ideas?

Re: Properties/Templates of categories with >1 categories

We upgraded to s9y 1.4.1 and tested the category blogs.
Still the same result as before.

Garvin is right; modification needs to be done to the "startcat" plugin in order for s9y to detect an author view.

Re: Properties/Templates of categories with >1 categories

Thanks for the info, judebert.

Will try upgrading S9Y on our development server and see what happens.
This will probably be on Monday though since it's Good Friday ;)

I appreciate your help! Have a great weekend.

Re: Re:

You can view postings by authors, but as judebert mentioned, the plugin does not apply any category style to it. I should have been more specific with regards to the plugins I am using. I actually cannot see posts by author because I am using the "Properties/Templates of Categories" plugi...

Sorry to bump an old post. But I have to revisit an old issue regarding clicking on the "author" name on a blog post with the "Properties/Templates of Categories" plugin installed. One of our "category" blogs is going to have multiple authors, so we'll need to have the ...

Re: Redirecting S9Y to a new domain

Thanks for replying kleinerChemiker!

I have a follow-up question:

What if I were to put the .htaccess file under the "blog" folder instead of the root directory, what would the Rewriterule be then?

Redirecting S9Y to a new domain

Hi everyone, We're planning on switching our domain to a new one, and would like to redirect all our S9Y posts to the new domain. Say I have this permalink structure: http://www. a .com/blog/archives/permalink.html I want to be able to redirect this to: http://www. b .com/blog/archives/permalink.htm...

A valid point, Don! But if one were to view the "who is using" page right now, one could assume that s9y was an abandoned project based on the dates of the listings and because the s9y-users.com domain no longer exists. s9y is not an abandoned project! I know that people could easily view ...
