- under not yet fully explored situations.
I will report to the bug / developer blog when I found out the exact reason and ...

Re: Login with different user
Confirmed, this was a two level domain problem.raigl wrote:This seems to be caused because I used a two-level domain
So I have set the three-level domain www.progruen-pb.de under settings as home, and disabled the automatic host discovery.

Re: Login with different user
This seems to be caused because I used a two-level domain (progruen-pb.de) instead of a three level domain; see alsoraigl wrote:The cookies for Session and author etc still exist after logout.

Login with different user
I have a problem that seems for me to be the same origin:
If I logged in as e.g. the admin user, logged out, and tried to log in as another user (e.g. with less privileges, or to help someone) I get logged in again as the previous admin user.

plugin placement dropdown vanishes if advance JS activated
If Enable advanced JS usage is disabled in the user options, there are two dropdowns for each plugin, one for the author selection, and the other one for the placement (or disabling).
If adanvced JS is enabled , the second dropdown has gone.

Found it: no FQDN used
Using live http headers, I could see that the cookies were never set, because I used a local server in the same domain without domain dots:
http://server/serendipity/...
instead of a fully qualified domain name , FQDN:
http://server.my.domain.de/serendipity/...

Login loop - cookies
Hi Garvin,
no, removing cookies does not help. Tried with IE and Firefox.
Only one cookie, PHPSESSID, is created, and this works also for the
1.1 installation, which is howver no longer clean, as I installed 1.2 over it and than un-tared 1.1 again to have a working system

However, whenever I want to acces any of the admin functions, the login screen comes again. German language selected ...
