Thanks, it worked. I swear that in 0.7, you don't need to change the info.txt. Maybe I'm just getting forgetful :D

New theme not showing in admin suite

I created a new directory for my new theme. I only want to change the default index.tpl, so the directory only has that file inside. However, it's not showing up in manage styles under the admin suite. I've tried adding more files to my new theme directory, such as info.txt and preview.png, but noth...

announce mailing list?

Have the developers of s9y think about creating a low traffic announce mailing list? It can be used for announcing major releases and security updates. Not everyone checks the forums after all.

MathML support is poor: IE has a thridparty plugin to make it work, and even Firefox has to download Math fonts to use it... I agree with the IE bit. It's a bummer if your readers prefers IE over firefox, and there are a lot of IE supporters. As for support in firefox, even though you need to insta...

Gavin, I couldn't find the xhtml patch you mentioned. For the admin page, I tried editing serendipity_admin.php. The main admin page is well formed XML, but some of the subpages aren't, mostly relating to javascripts with && and <=. (For example, in personal settings and the entry preview). ...

MathML in s9y

I'd like to display equations using MathML within the blog entries. With some not so pretty hacks, I can display equations correctly on the blog frontpage, but not in the entry preview. I'd like some help with this one. FYI, I'm using 0.8 beta 4. To use MathML, s9y has to be patched to: 1. serve pag...

The comments are stored in a database table called serendipity_shoutbox. Use phpmyadmin, go to the browse page of the table, and delete the duplicated comment.

I believe cpanel gives you a list of referrers to your site. Not sure about exit links though. Most webhost would have cpanel + awstats installed. Have a look at the stats there. It tells you stuff like where your visitors are from (down to countries), are they referred by a search engine and the ke...

It actually says so on the text above the captcha picture: Please ensure that your browser supports and accepts cookies, or your comment cannot be verified correctly. I didn't implement the plugin, obviously, so I have no idea if it's possible to do captcha without cookies. Have you considered modif...

Firefox on Linux, and accept all cookies (I assume that's what you mean by security setting). My blog isn't high traffic so I don't have a lot of user statistics on which client browsers work. But I can say that the captcha works fine with Firefox on windows, Safari and Mozilla + Firefox on Linux.

Have you checked that your PHP has the mysql module installed and enabled? Does a simple script like below (from php.net) work? (Replace the mysql_host, mysql_user and mysql_password with whatever you are using). <?php // Connecting, selecting database $link = mysql_connect('mysql_host', 'mysql_user...

I tried adding a comment to your blog. I believe I got it right the first time. I was lead back to the page of the entry, but without the style sheet. And I can't see my comment either. I believe the server/blog stopped working right at that moment because I get this when I click on the banner: Fata...

URL please? I've been using captcha for a month now, and havent' got any problems. One way to minimise the use of captcha is to set only entries older than 7 days to require commenters to pass the chanllenge-response test. It usually takes about a week for search engines to index your new entries (a...

Looks all wrong in Firefox

Have a look here:
http://www.ecs.soton.ac.uk/~sw2/template.jpg

The calendar spills over the side bar, and so are most of the side bar titles. And I'm using my normal font size! Seems to me that the frames/tables are all fixed size and don't scale properly.
