Need short help on MySQL
Hi, today, while checking my template with the validator I recognized that I had an invalid tag entered in some entries. So updated them quickly: update serendipity_entries set body= replace(`body`,'<B>','<b>'); Fine so far for the database entries, they're updated. But: why the hell I do not see th...

serendipity_event_trackexits adds second title
Hi, today I continued developing my own theme and therefore I checked it with the HTML validator of the W3C. Through that I found a minor problem with the core plugin serendipity_event_trackexits. If you enable the exit counter also on HTML nuggets and use, for instance, the popular link code of Fir...

Questions over questions while creating a new theme
Hi, currently I try to convert my draft for my new website into a s9y template - but there are easier things out there in the world than doing this. Sorry. I see a lot of variables used in the default index.tpl, but I cannot find any description of them. Nothing in special, this is a general thing. ...

[FREQ] Disabling hotlinking + media issues
Hi, due to my still ongoing movement of my existing blog I tried to figure out a solution, which provides you a possibility to post mostly pictures. To be honest, my quest was not successful yet. Most of the image galleries out there are pretty well, but not flexible. Gallery even does not use GD in...

Customizing the captchas
Hi,
is there a way to customize the captcha layout? I mean the font, the picture generated etc.
Regards, Thomas

Re: Enabling self-registering, but disable blog-posting?
There is a permission that tells to "forbid creating entries" in recent versions of the plugin. Serendipity 0.9 delivers a full permission privilege system, but the self-register plugin is not updated to take advantage of those new features. Regards, Garvin Does this mean that the current...

Enabling self-registering, but disable blog-posting?
Hi, I'm still looking for the best solution for my new transferred blog and the integration with iManager looks the best I've ever seen. Now, because I'd like to have the users to login to view articles currently self-registering is provided through a plugin, but then the users are allowed to post i...

If I'm right the user self registration is inserting the users as authours (level 1 I guess). I know that you can disable the right to post anything except comments for users on level 1. What are now the defaults for newly self-registerted users? And can it be set in the plugin? I just thought it mi...

Moving and upgrading s9y at the same time
Hi, I'm going to move to a new hoster and therefore I'd need help on how to get the current content of my s9y blog to the new host and upgrade it there to the most recent new version. I don't know if some path related informations are stored in some db tables, but paths will definetly change. Anyone...

Direct access to comment.php
Hi,
after viewing my weblogs recently, I recognized that comment.php can be called directly, without arguments.
I tried it and it shows ALL comments ever added, ordered from the oldest to the newest.
Is this a feature or a bug? I have still 0.7.1 running.
Regards, Thomas

Current plugins and descriptions
Hi, I'm still on 0.7.1 and willing to upgrade to 0.8. But it seems that it is not that easy. First of all the new template system coming with Smarty is fine, but I miss information like what of s9y (variables, etc.) can be used in the templates. And, another point of criticism, is the lack of descri...

Hi, your post gave me another idea. Thanks. First I thought it would be enough selecting a folder that comes within the s9y functionality (means, located under /uploads). But your idea would increase the usage of the plugin definetly. The only negative thing I see is that these directories outside t...

Thumbnail gallery static page
Hi, yesterday I got a test installation of s9y-b6 running ( a bit tricky on a W2K). After playing a while around I think it would be time to write a plugin, which I still miss. There's the plugin Gallery (not for Coppermine) and Thumbnail Page buth both plugins display ALL images from the upload dir...
