Forgot to mention which version I'm using:
Serendipity v0.6-pl1
I'd like to become a s9y tester. Is there any formal way that I can do this? I'm not sure I have the time to check out every CVS snapshot, but I'd like to test release candidates.

I just looked at the s9y db and noticed that the 'category' table has a field 'authorid'. I tried to update this like so: update category set authorid = '1,2' where categoryid = 7; This changed the authorid from 2 to 1. If s9y is on the way from being a single-user weblog to a multiuser log, can we ...

categories and users conflict
From a programming POV this may not be a bug, but from a users POV, it is because it is working completely contrary to my expectations and how I want it to work. This may take a bit to explain... My brother (username=Clive) installed s9y on the site we maintain 5 days ago - www.bswa.org. He created ...

Well I think I'll risk answering my own question. It seems that there are no major problems - at least none that are obvious to me. We just got s9y up and running on our website using PHP 4.1.2. Check it out www.bswa.org . I don't believe that there are any known security issues with PHP 4.1....

PHP versions with s9y v0.6-pl1
My bro and I are trying to install the latest release of s9y on our webserver. We trialled it on our machines at home running Suse 9.0 (php4.3.3). But our webserver runs Debian Woody with php 4.1.2. The installer tells us that we need php 4.2.1 or greater. Can we get by with php 4.1.2 or do we reall...

Re: Thanks Garv!
Sad to hear that you like my blog but can't access it; I would've done it in english, but I felt more "honest" my keeping it in my mother tongue; however I have a google-translation link at the bottom of my page, if you want to have a good laugh. ;) And laugh I did. :P "There one can...

Re: Does this PHP not work any more?
I used the "plugin" on this page before and it worked fine. Now with upgrading it doesn't seem to. Did something change with new fixes or am I doing something wrong on my part? The error I'm getting is: "Parse error: parse error in /home/XXX/XXX/XXX.com/sy/plugins/serendipity_plugin_...

Thanks Garv!
Thanks for your assistance Garv. :) I've been messing around and found that that s9y is even more powerful than I thought. I'm hoping to have this running on our website by sometime in June. BTW, I really liked the design of your site. It would have to be one of the best s9y sites I've seen. Pity (f...

customizing: embedding outside of the serendipity directory
After a long search for the "best" blog, my brother and I decided on Serendipity. We've got a test installation that is everything we hoped for....well almost. :? We want a blog for the site we admin (bswa.org) and think serendipity will be the trick. But we want to do a custom hack and I ...
