the problem was caused by event plugin "google analytics". after removing the plugin, there is no more problem with popup windows.

when searching "passion" - no problem
when searching "Passion" - problem (capital letter)

btw - i tried on my site some phrases with and without capital letters - no problem here. i'm using serendipity 1.2alpha4
