Yes I uninstalled this plugin and found some more old stuff ("Karteileichen"). Deactivating some of these is causing issues, but I will do some more maintenance first before I maybe ask for some help again.

Oh yes great, that's it. The serendipity_event_dashboard plugin was installed and active. Moving it to inactive fixed the issue.
(Probably I should check all my plugins, there is some really old stuff)

As far as I can see it is installed on my webspace.

Unfortunately, the filesize of the created thumbnail is often greater then the original image, especially if the image is already quite small.
Any suggestions?

recently I had trouble with uploading images into the media gallery. Now it seems to work again but I regenerated all thumbnails and now all thumbs are missing. When I regenerate all thumbs again I just get a blank page: www.[mywebsite].de/serendipity_admin.php?serendipity[adminModule]=media ...

The timeline theme has an option to display posts like a normal blog posts. A little work on entries.tpl and you could eliminate the entry images.
