I can't really reproduce the error, I must admit. I got the extra debugging output I once told you, but not the other error anymore. However I disabled the extra debugging, it's not needed. Check, if it works for you. The error message cames only when updating a plugins, or instaling a new one. Ess...

If I am right, the code you sent me checks if the PEAR Lib is already called, and if yes, not to call it twice.
So if I keep this code in the PEAR.php (without the "echo's") what could be the issues for future upgrades ?
