Wow, you're fast! ;) No, this is all purely virtual. It's just because I have an existing site that I'm migrating, and I want to keep the existing URLs active. I also have some directories with stuff that get a .htaccess to protect them from s9y, so I know how to use that. Thanks again for the help!

I don't quite understand what that would do. The point of the plugin is to be able to use URLs that end in a /, which are then replaced with /index.html. So if I link to mysite.com/something/, that gets redirected to mysite.com/something/index.html, which happens to be a static page URL. This only ...

Garvin, I managed to write a plugin that gets the genpage hook callback, and that can tell whether there's a 404 or not. Now how do I make Serendipity jump to another page, or alternatively, replace the location it is fetching the page data from? Can I still make it look at a different page at this ...

Congratulations on the 1.0 final release - and the new site design! Especially the latter is a big improvement ;). I also like the fact that you are doing a lot of documentation, that is extremely important (and unfortunately rather rare in open source projects).
BTW, the swiss mirror worked fine ...

author permalink using username doesn't work
When I change the permalink for authors to use the username, the link still uses the realname. That leads to the interesting problem that it also shows the wrong author, because it apparently can't find the right one with that realname as the username. The link is correct when I use id, there just ...

staticpages and index.html
Is there a way to use a "directory" in a URL without a virtual filename when using staticpages? I am working on recreating (and of course expanding) an existing website, and I have a few URLs there that are just domain.org/directory/. I tried creating a static page that uses directory/index.html as ...

Re: Some advanced(?) usage questions
Why not rename "archives" to "blog" then? I think that should work for the distinction of the website?
That was easy ;) Yes, that works very well. The only thing that doesn't work with that prefix is the archives. It wants to show me the posts from 1969, but I really didn't post much back then ...

Re: Some advanced(?) usage questions
How did you play with your path settings exactly?
I just randomly changed some of them ... didn't really expect it to work, to be honest.
What would be cool would be to have the blog path as a standard feature. With serendipity getting more and more features, more people will want to build stuff ...

Re: Some advanced(?) usage questions
Ah, now I understand. Yes, using a "/blog" prefix as a virtual directory should work in that case!
But the "main page" for that would have to be done manually, right? I just played around with the path settings, but all I managed to do was screw up the styles, the blog would not appear under /blog ...

Re: Some advanced(?) usage questions
Garvin, thanks for your replies!
No, Serendipity can only serve pages starting from the directory it is installed in.
I think that's a misunderstanding. What I mean is that serendipity would be installed in the root directory of the site, and also serve pages from there. But the blog part would ...

Some advanced(?) usage questions
Hi, I've been using s9y for some time for my blog, and I'm now trying to figure out if I can use it as a CMS for a complete website. I really like the features in the current 1.0 beta, and it gives me the right level of control (like selecting the virtual filename of static pages - which many others ...
