Re: Forced Unicode
You could fix this by encoding your file locally as ISO-8859-1 and changing SQL_CHARSET an dLANG_CHARSET, but we can't at this point do this generally because users that already use dutch, are already using UTF-8. I only changed the dLANG_CHARSET, not the SQL_CHARSET. Should I change that also? It ...

Re: Forced Unicode
Hi Garvin, Thanks for your help, but I accidentally found the solution - not in the options you described (they were set okay), but in the language files. The Dutch language file had UTF-8 as encoding, while the English and other languages had Western encoding. When I changed the Dutch language's en...

Forced Unicode
Since I upgraded to the latest version of Serendipity my weblog (http://www.i-tjingcentrum.nl/serendipity/) is always displayed in Unicode, which produces characters at certain places. I thought I could resolve this by hardcoding 'charset=ISO-8859-1' in the template header, but that doesn't help: ...

Hi Garvin, thanks for your reply. I wonder why I am not seeing my website in the right character set. When I go to my weblog the character set is automatically set to Unicode. I switch it to Western, everything looks fine. I refresh the page - and it's back to Unicode. :? Do you have a clue to what ...

Unwanted automatic Unicode selection
Since I upgraded to version 1.2, Firefox and IE automatically switch to Unicode (UTF8) when I visit my weblog ( http://www.itcn.nl/serendipity ), even though this feature is turned off in the browsers. This produces some unwanted characters, mainly replaced by ''. Is this something in Serendipity o...

This feature works nice, except when I use PopFetcher to harvest entries from a Pop mail account - in that case the option 'Send this entry via E-Mail' seems to be swiched off and I always get the message 'This entry was not sent via E-Mail because you decided to not send it'. How can I change this ...

Hi Judebert, Thanks, you helped me out! Because the comment where you enter the permalink said 'Needs the absolute HTTP path and needs to end with .htm or .html!' I thought you had to enter a complete url, and I had as permalink http://www.i-tjingcentrum.nl/serendipity/pages/contactform.html. But wh...

Hm, if you are running version 1.4 of the static page plugin, you should definitely consider upgrading to version 1.12, yes. Unfortunately it does not want to do that. I have changed the download location to netmirrror.org, and now there are no erroro messages any more, all the files are fetched an...

The static page list also does not obey the sort order that I gave. Strange. Could this cause the problems? Spartacus says there is an update available: Static Page List Upgrade This plugin displays a configurable list of the static pages. It requires StaticPage plugin version 1.22 or greater. Autho...

I stand corrected: this link does work now: http://www.i-tjingcentrum.nl//serendipity/index.php?serendipity[subpage]=contactform But how do I get this link in the static page list? It automatically links to http://www.i-tjingcentrum.nl/serendipity/pages/contactform.html which does not work. Is there...

Re: Problem with static pages and contact form
Hm, that makes sense [giving myself a *boing!* to the head]. I have changed it, but the problem stays.garvinhicking wrote:Please try to only ust "contactform" as Shorthand URL title. It should not contain spaces, because that content is the one you actually use to call the URL!
Best regards,
