translation problem

Post by costa »

tried to find something here on forums but seems like nobody had such problem. i'm doing something wrong but i don't know exactly what.

i'm currently writing polish translation for serendipity. utf for now and native in the future (since almost everybody uses utf as i see :)). so i put a file named serendipity_lang_pl.inc.php in UTF-8 directory, language added to serendipity_config.inc.php and is visible in control panel.

the problem: i'm choosing defined language, saving my choice, logging out from control panel and i'm closing browser window (just to be sure every possible settings are stored right). so i'm opening logging screen and here i can see translated text. but after login control panel falls back to english, i do not see any translated text and logging out just keeps those settings. opening logging page again brings untranslated texts.

what am i doing wrong? what could be a possible reason for this situation? the same happens when i try to put serendipity_lang_pl.inc.php in main language folder and utf-8 folder together. i really don't have an idea what is going on. i followed instructions from www.s9y.org page. the files are readable for apache user, everything should be ok. but it's not :/

problem solved rather radically - reinstalation of whole thing helped. but why i had to reinstall everything just to add another language? but it works like a charm now...
