Installation fine..... not working though.....

Post by James »

Hi!

The installation went fine, but when I try to get into the Autoring Suite from within the Administration Suite, it gives me an "The document was not found."-page... The main index.php results into the same.

Can you please help me with this...I seem to overlook sumthing....

Thanks!!

Is the link directing you to /entries, or /serendipity_entries.php? The latter should always work, whereas the former will only work if mod_rewrite or apache error handling is being used.

Thanks for your hint! The authoring suite is working fine.
But now for the most important part, the blog itself. It points to the index.php on the serendipity-root. That's not much more than "The document was not found." either.
Do I have to make adjustments to turn the blog active?

I uploaded everything to my hosted space. I then 666'ed everything, just to make sure there is no problem with that. So I'm afraid it's not an rights issue.
I am not able to check Apache logs since I am an humble user.......

Anybody suggestions?

Ask your hosting provider to check your error.log or send it to you

all apply

Does this fix also apply to the following error? (at index.php, select a date off calendar)

Not Found
The requested URL /acting/blog/archives/20041004.html was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I recently upgraded from .6pl3 to .7rc1. I do have the same issue with /entries vs /serendipity_entries

Thanks
