Can't add User Self-registration

Hello,
I'm no programmer so maybe this is a complete idiotic question;
but the fact is that I can't get the plugin "User Self-registration (serendipity-plugin-adduser)" to work with the theme BEX01. Serendipity tells me that it is installed but there's no sign of it at the frontend.

Also make sure you have the corresponding event plugin installed.
