Files to translate?

Post by Yoggi »

I want to translate Serendipity 1.0.1 to Afrikaans, but am not sure which files to translate.
According to the docs, I have to translate:
lang/serendipity_lang_en.inc.php
lang/serendipity_config_local_en.tpl
lang/serendipity_config_user_en.tpl

I can only find lang/serendipity_lang_en.inc.php and
lang/UTF-8/serendipity_lang_en.inc.php

The:
lang/serendipity_config_local_en.tpl
lang/serendipity_config_user_en.tpl

I cannot find in 1.0.1

I have translated the files serendipity_lang_en.inc.php in the lang and UTF-8 folders, but it doesn't show Afrikaans where the language can be selected in the Configuration screen at the admin suite.

Any help?

Hi!

I'm sorry, you are right that the documentation is not up to date. I just updated it to reflect the new s9y version files:

http://www.s9y.org/46.html

So you have already created the right file. What you are missing just seems to be the entry in serendipity_config.inc.php in the $serendipity['languages'] array!

Headers already sent

I have changed everything now, but when I have chosen the language to be Afrikaans, the following error shows at the top of the admin pages:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /hsphere/local/home/blinkofstink.co.za/lang/UTF-8/serendipity_lang_af.inc.php:1) in /hsphere/local/home/blinkofstink.co.za/serendipity_admin.php on line 11

Hi!

This means that in your serendipity_lang_af.inc.php you have a blank line/newline on the first line, or that your files does not start with <?php.

Best regards,
Garvin

Got it right now.
When I use Notepad++ it doesn't show a newline, but there seems to be one. Something like that.
When I use PHPDesigner, it works.

Hi Yoggi,

I also would like to have my blog in Afrikaans. (it's actually for my wife, who is Afrikaans). Can I ask if you still have that file? It would save me some time translating :)

Yes, please,
If there is an Afrikaans language pack lurking about somewhere, could someone please share it?
Or even better, could it not be put in the setup list of Serendipity?

I am desperately looking for an Afrikaans translation of Serendipity, but my written Afrikaans is not good enough to do the translation.

Is there someone who could help, please?

Thank you in advance.
