Installing on a specific domain

Post by dpush »

I have two domains set up on my host, one that I am using, one that I'm not. I followed all the instructions and successfully set up the software install but, for no obvious reason, it installed to the domain I'm not using. All the info I entered and the database I set up were for the one I use but it set up my blog for the wrong one anyway. I use ipage, which I feel tortured for every day of my life, and I'm not sure if this is an error on their side or mine. I have had an enormous amount of technical trouble with them and their servers and tech support lately. As of today, Mojo Marketplace won't connect to any database which has been going on for several days. That's why I turned to Serendipity. If someone could point me to figuring out where I went wrong and if I did, I would be most obliged and thank you in advance.

Usually, s9y doesn't "install" itself on any domain. That is controlled through the server webspace itself. You must copy the s9y files to the directory of the domain that is connected to the directory.

So if you copied the s9y installation to some directory and now it's on the "wrong domain", you have used the wrong directory. You would need to put the s9y files inside the directory for the right domain...
