That would be a little too wide :)

While we're here: Have you tried to resize your IE Window to an 'even' size like 1024x768 or so? If it works for Carl, it should work for you, too, I guess.

If I reduce my browser window one pixel at a time, there seem to be a few places where the right sidebar drops below the left and content pane, but most of the time it works as it should. So the rpoblem is definitely an IE problem. Doing hte same test in FF and Opera the browser refreshes perfectly...

Since you're checking IE 5.01 windows I thought I should let you see what IE 5.2 mac looks like. Eow! I guess this is supposed to be 3-column, right? Nasty. Seems to have a problem with the navbar also  Thanks for checking, Dave. I'm out of ideas right now, but I'm probably out for the weeken...

I know that all the IE versions have had float-in-float bugs. By any chance, are you floating the sidebars? Might they (or the sidebar plugin blocks) be inside another float? Hmmm. Yes, the sidebars are floated (as well as #content) and #mainpane - which contains these three - has a float: left ......

Looks better, but not perfect. You'll see the height of the boxes is what i call suboptimal ;) I call it broken  This is really weird, since according to Alex Robinson's original article, all this should work perfectly fine with IE6. Plus, Carl (or anyone in this forum, for that matter) has n...

Ok, this is the result with only one sidebar on the left... Great, thanks for patiently testing all this :) Sooo ... this looks as if the calendar (which I kind of tend to disregard since I don't use it myself) or even .serendipitySideBarItem need explicit padding and/or margins or otherwise IE6 ma...

Yes, they are displayed correctly then. The "old" theme 3.0 also displays the columns correct. If you want, you can login as admin into the testblog. I need a pm then ;) Won't be necessary, I think :) v3.0 is pretty much irrelevant for this since it's more or less a completely different t...

Harald Weingaertner wrote:i use the latest nightly from today now and the error is still there - and still only with IE6.
I can only take wild guesses here, since I can't reproduce it anyway. Could you switch this to a 2-column layout with just a right sidebar and see if the sidebar plugins are displayed correctly in that?

Sorry I just realized that Harald has already sent me a message including the URL  The output code looks fine, it even validates :), so I think it's safe to say there are no unclosed divs or something like that. I'm right now reading the 'Danger, er, Alex Robinson!' part of the original articl...

That made the sidebar too wide so I tried setting .serendipitySideBarTitle to 95% and that seemed to do the trick in Opera and had no adverse effect in Safari or Firefox Shoot, I wanted to suggest that in the first place :) Thanks again for helping out with the Mac stuff, we'll make a note to inclu...

Even if i disable all Plugins (except Kalander and Search) the Boxes on the right side appear on the left side in IE6. Not in FF and not in Opera ;) So i guess it has something to do with the 3.1 theme. The 3.0 Theme works fine. I now don't think, that we have to compare our plugins ;) Nothing to b...

Have a look at Tools -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Content -> Style options. It should be somewhere in there, I think :)

I think the first step is to establish the version of 1.1 that Harald and stm999999999 are using and the plugins they's using, then see if we can replicate the fault. At least that would tell us if this is a template fault or a Serendipity/plugin fault. Hmm, more coffee, more thoughts :) stm9x9's p...

In Opera 8.5 & Opera 9 (mac) the sidebar for the Caramel colour-set looks like Thanks for the congrats, Dave :) Ah, so we finally have a Mac user testing this :) Hmm, so this looks as if .serendipitySideBarItem needs a width, right? Could you try to set it to 100% in caramel.css and see if that...

carl_galloway wrote:Is anyone else able to verify that fault, and perhaps provide a list of plugins being used.
Which reminds me that I once had a problem which I solved by changing the order of the plugins in the plugin configuration. Maybe that's a solution for Harald's problem with the (not) expanding boxes ..?
